In November Verizon assured me service was now available in my zipcode so we signed up for the triple play phone/tv/internet. My internet is supposed to be 500 kbps but is only 200. Three service techs came out and couldn't fix it so it was referred to engineering who decided it cannot be fixed. We were told by a service tech that our house is 6 miles further away than the end of Verizon's signal and we should never have been offered Verizon services.
In an effort to cancel the package I've been informed that Directv is a separate entity and although Verizon cannot live up to their part of the bargain Directv will not let me cancel the package without a penalty.
Verizon knew my address was not in their area but they wanted to sell Directv so they're offering bogus Verizon offers that contract people to Directv for 15 months while not providing promised services on their end.
