This is the second time I have had an issue with Dell. The first was with my laptop. A Dell rep. Did contact me (Connie M.) and take care of the situation.
This time it is just unreasonable. I purchased an Xbox 360 for my 16 yr old son for Xmas. He received this gift Xmas night after all other rounds to family etc. Was completed.
His father and him played the Xbox 5 times. The fifth time it stopped working. The tray won't open or close. It won't even read the disc that I purchased from Dell. (Which is stuck in the system).
I contacted Dell and explained to them that when I called to inquire on the system and what it came with etc. That it would be a Xmas present and I know all about Dell's 21 day policy so I would call back and order this product after Thanksgiving so it would still be within that 21 day time period.
I was informed by the Dell Rep. That that would not be necessary. That since the product would not be opened or used until Xmas that their 21 day policy would start from 12/25/08 on.
What a shock when contacting Dell today that I was informed it was over the 21 day policy and that their was nothing they could do to help me. I politely explained to them that this is not what their Rep. Had told me when I called to inquire about this product.
They apologized and stated that their previous Rep. Had misspoke and that there was nothing they could do to help me. So now I have this $700.00 piece of equipment that won't work, and Dell does not want to stand behind their product. (once again).
At this rate I have to say I will not be fooled by Dell again. I will not buy from them, nor believe anything they say unless it is put in writing.
