About three years ago I signed up for AOL internet services to try them with the thirty day trial period. I cancelled before the thirty days was up because I went to another provider. I faxed in what I thought was all of my information and they sent a mailed request for more information. I supplied them with EVERYTHING they requested and didn't hear back from them. This was a debit card I had charged it to and I am very very accurate with my bank account so I did not review my statements for a few months. They had been charging my account $20 every month for nine months. I realize that it is my responsibility to review my statements, but it is their responsibility to cancel an account when it is requested to be cancelled. I called them several times and received a very small portion of my money back. Not only did they refuse to give me my money back on the basis of it being their error here is what happened:
I would call and get an immediate answer and get the run-around from one csr. Then I would hang up and call back and I would never get an answer. They were BLOCKING my number! Each time I would call back from another phone number I would get an immediate answer and when I would try back with that same number I got eternal ringing.
AOL is a scam!
