After I had called the number on the letter, the person had asked if I had opened a bank account with the check sent yet. And then said to call him back after i had to recieve my winnings. A few hours later I had gotten a call from a machine asking me to press 0 if i had opened an account.
Feeling wierd about this I looked up the company listed on the paper " Excel international" and contacted a representative. She asked If I had received a check in the mail as soon as I asked if they even had a Finacial Services & Consultants Division. Then told me that there was a scam going around, and that i should return to the post office and report the check.
I had seen people talking about these scams and this website usacomplaints.com and decied not to turn in my scam letter and check, but instead report it and keep a hold on it as evidence.
