My teenage children signed up with AOL for a 'free trial'. This rolled over to an account that was automatically billed to my phone bill.
I called to cancel the service. I know the screen name that is used on the account but I do not know the name of the person that originated the account. Because I do not know that name, they will not cancel the account, even though I am the sole person responsible for the phone bill.
I was instructed to have my phone disconnected, if I ever wanted to have the aol service cancelled. They will not cancel the service.
This is an outrage. The customer service of this company sucks! I was on hold for over an hour and then disconnected two different times, before I was insulted and told that it doesn't matter who pays the bill and that I could Never have the service cancelled.
Needless to say the phone will be disconnected and aol will never be welcomed in my home again.
