Makes False Promises And Produces FRAUDULENT RESULTS citysearch.com, online advertsing scam

On February 21, a sales representitive at Citysearch.com called my office offering a listing on their site, as well as other search engins and a variety of other sites. He also told me I would have the ability to track my results on the site, and that the tracking would include where my traffic was coming from.

In March I asked the same sales representitive to provide me with statistics as to how many people were coming to my site and from what sources. This report was promised to me before I signed the agreement. It was also promised that I would be able to get this information any time I wanted it... Which I wasn't. After several days I got a response with a very vauge, typed, list of random dates and numbers behind them (supposedly my click-throughs).

It was dissapointing to see that I was not given what was promised. As a result, I asked the same sales representitive to please send me a summary of where my traffic was comnig from and how much each site was producing. The response provided to me was a joke. The same exact e-mail that was sent to me a month before.

So far my customer service experience was lacking, yet I stuck on as a client since now I was doing most of our online marketing and search engine optimization in-house... So I had the ability to search traffic from sources with Google Analytics. I thought, sure Citysearch could simply provide me with a list of sites they advertise my web site on. Wrong again. Several calls to Citysearch provided no answers... Only more promises.

In September I asked my accounts payable department to stop paying Citysearch.com since our requests were being ignored. It would have been one thing if Citysearch explained they could not fullfill my requests, but it is another to continuously make promises without producing results.

The next few months consisted of frustrating phone calls trying to cancel my account. Finally in January I spoke with somone new. She finally cancelled my account and even emailed me my final invoice, which I requested on the phone, so that I could put Citysearch behind me. I was relieved to see that we only owed $204.

In March I received a call from a collections agency. Apparently Citysearch said I owed $1,988.43!!! I argued against them, and although I was nice to the collections agency, it was hard to stay nice to Citysearch when I received calls from them WEEKLY from SALES REPRESENTITVES trying to tell me about how Citysearch can help my business.

These people don't even know when they are in a dispute with you! They are money hungry and will tell you anything to get you to sign a contract. Do not do business with citysearch.com!!!
