Have you ever used Citysearch.com as an internet tool to find great restaurants/entertainment in your city? DON'T! Try this: look up a restaurant where you've had a horrible experience in your city. Type an honest review. Then, go back a couple of days later and try to find the review. Guess what? It wont be there! It's pretty simple.
Citysearch makes money off of business listings. Kind of like the online yellow pages, only with a twist. Each listed business pays to be included on the site. Then they can also pay extra for "premium exposure" etc... So basically all Citysearch is is a site full of internet ads.
Of course they want to keep their customers happy, so they will post all good reviews (and some benign less than desireable things like "restaurant was crowded, etc... To keep this scam less obvious, but only if it is enveloped in an otherwise positive review) and they have someone for each city to monitor the sites and delete any negative reviews.
It's all about keeping their customers happy and keeping the money flowing in for Citysearch, at the cost of honest reviews and experiences. Citysearch clearly lacks integrity and should not be trusted as an accurate city guide for anything!
