Peoplepc debited my bank account after I called and cancelled service but they waited 2 months before doing so. When the first month had passed with no debit problem from them as I feared there would be, keeping all the info along with the confirmation number didn't seem necessary. Wrong!
When I called again after seeing the charge on my account this month, the girl I spoke with said I had agreed to a free month of service when I called to cancel. No I didn't, not knowingly anyway. After she said to wait 48 hours and see if my account had been credited for the charge and if it hadn't to call them back, I called my bank to see what could be done at that end. They said a filing a "stop payment" for a $29.00 fee by the bank would prevent any other charges from Peoplepc going through.
That's the route I'm going because Peoplepc can not be trusted.
