16 July I called Peoplepc and requested stoppage od servicebecause I had obtained service elsewhere. I was told that Peoplepc was going to give me a one months free service. Nothingwas said about calling them at the end of the free month, to cancelthe service.
No Visa charge was made for the month of August, but on 9-4-09 there was a charge for one month of service.
I called Peoplepc to protest this charge and was told that becauseI had not called at the end of free month, my account was still active. I was informed that because their service was available to me, they could not make a refund of the 9-4-09 charge.
I was then told that there would be no more charges, and I was given an account cancellation number, 35094420.
On 10-4-09 my Visa card was charged for another month of service. 11-10=09 I called Peoplepc to protest, and was told that no refund could be made, but my service had been cancelled.
This "one month free service" is in my opinion a ruse, thinking thatas I did, most folks would not call, having already asked for cancellation. I would not recommedn Peoplepc to anyone, for theirinternet service provider.
