Yes we bought a whole set from Gateway in January of and included the monitor, tower, speakers, scanner, printer. We bought this with a three year in house warranty and every piece we bought was suppose to be under three years warranty.
They have never one time stood by their warranty and when we had problems with our set they always gave us a problem when we would call them about our problems with the computer. They want to charge us two dollars a minute to discuss the problems with our computer and it was only a year old and under warranty. We paid cash for our computer and it is not like we were behind or anything on the payments it was paid for.
First we had to have our monitor traded out five times because they did not want to mess with our problems and when UPS came with it, it was a 15 inch monitor and a used one at that, so we sent it back and they finally got it right with a 17 inch and a new one that we ordered. Then finally they had us pack the whole thing up and we received a new whole other set. They just do not want to deal with any problems on our computer and we are still under warranty.
We had a in house warranty and when we had problems they told us to bring it in and when we told them we had a in house warranty they said oh that is for when you have a part that needs to be replaced in the system and when we said yes we know and a part needs to be replaced they still would not honor the in house warranty. Plus they tryed to charge us for fixing it and it under warranty and we had to pitch a fit to get it fixed without paying for it.
Now our Hewlett Packard printer that came with it is out and we called them to hear it was no under warranty but for a year, and we were told the whole set was under warranty for three years.
We have a printer with a piece that has come out and they will nothing about the printer. They told us to call Hewlett Packard and they told us it was under warranty for 3 months, so we have a printer that is not working and Gateway will not or can not tell us where we can take it to get it fixed.
They have lied from day one in sales. WE were told things that they knew would never be made possible by gateway.
Then they told us that we could sell it back to them but they will only give you 150.00 dollars or so for a 2000 dollar system.
I could not believe what they were saying. This company is a lier and it is a rip off. We tryed to get our money back right after we started having problems with gateway and their lieing and they said to send the system back and then they would decide what they wanted to give us for it and we said how stupid do you think we are. Nothing is ever done with them for their customers and I
dont think they ever have any intention of doing anything when you buy it and we feel like we have sucker written on our forehead.
I am trying to find the companys presidents address, because the customer service does nothing and tells you nothing but we can not help you.
