Unfortunately, I was unaware of "complaint" prior to my experience with Bestpricecameras.com, if I was... Then I would never be writing this report.
I had been looking for a new camcorder... Stumbled across their website this past week and figured I'd give it a shot. Received a call back the next day confirming my order, something seemed a miss just by the way they conduct a conversation but figured they were just a small time operation. Although they tried pushing other products at me to add to my order I finally got the point across that all I wanted was the camera.
Two days go by and I decided to call them back. 1) To confirm shipping date again. 2) To verify when payment would be received. 3) (The big reason) When I checked their website, the same camera I order two days prior had dropped in price by $94.00! So I was going to inquire how I might get my camera at this price and hoping for good customer service.
Well, while on the phone with Customer Service, he stated I would have to cancel my current order and re-order at the new price and he would need to transfer me to someone who could do this.
Next agent after explaining why I was transferred to him, he asked me So why did you cancel your order? Of course, it was so I could get a better price. While this is going on I had the website with the details of the camcorder in front of me. The guy tells me well, that camcorder is $719.00 now. I asked again Now I purchased it two days ago at $619.00, Im showing it at $525.00 on the site now. How can this be?
Then he goes on to tell me that Im lying, IM LYING! And that Im not at the correct site. After letting him know of course that I was. The guy then tells me to refresh my screen and sure enough it says $719.00 now!!! He changed it on the fly! Ha! I thought this is all I need to know about your business now. He then tells me that they dont need business with liars and hung up!
I kept the site up and made screen shots of their site with the changes made from one to the other prices just in case I needed to prove to someone.
In any event, Ive already notified my credit company about any possible disputes I may have in the event this business tries to charge me (I did cancel the order). But I handled it that way as a precautionary measure.
Id really like to see this type of practice put out of business completely and would like to find any information on what can be done from a legal standpoint if anyone knows update me!
From what it looks like on usacomplaints.com, this isnt the first or last time they are going to make people mad.
