I found 86th Street Photo and Video as the low price seller of a Panasonic digital camera I had research to buy. Upon ordering the item online, I received an email from them telling me I had to "confirm" my order by calling their customer service number. Upon finally getting through to a "customer service" agent, I confirmed my order details at which point this person tried to sell me a 2GB SD card for $79.95. When I told him I didn't need one (having bought one at Office Depot for $14.95), he said he could sell it for $49.95. I again told him no and wasn't interested in hearing any more pricing discounts for the card. The camera was supposed to be delivered in 3 - 5 business days.
After waiting 7 business days with no sign of the camera, I again called their "customer service" number and waited on hold for over 15 minutes. Note: the hours of operation posted on their website do not accurately reflect when they are available to answer their phone. Upon getting through to the (only?) agent, I was told that the camera was back ordered and would not be available for 6 to 8 weeks. I was able to cancel my order, but felt that I needed to cancel the credit card I had used as the whole operation has the feel of a scam. Save yourself time and your peace of mind and order from a reputable store offering a reasonable price for your item.
