What a complete and udder misrepresentation of a product. Hughes is systematically ripping people off. I was wooed into using Hughes on the promise that their service is as fast as my DSL was. What they didn't tell me was that you had to be on at 3:00AM to get any decent speeds. I make a living on the web and need constant reliable access. I made this very clear to them.
What happened you ask. I constantly got web accelerator errors and could only browse during the day very close to what my emergency dialup connection connected at. What a fricken joke.
They also convinced me to pay for the equipment later. Save the money. I called and argued, yes I actually spoke to someone, and got nowhere. Well sir, you can cancel your service, but we will bill your $700 dollars for the equipment if you do. Hmmmmmmmm? You lied to me to get me to sign up, now you want me to pay for the product you misrepresented? Very interesting.
The truth of the matter is I couldn't get any work done on my site due to the slow speeds and constant errors, so I through the system out the fricken window in frustration and got a wireless card from Verizon. Of which I am very happy with.
Hughes has sent me to collections now and I sent a letter to the Collection agency letting them know they can kiss my A*. We'll see how that goes.
Bottom line is, I'm waiting patiently for the class action suit. I'm no fan of lawsuits, but this company is flat out fleacing average americans. It must be stopped!!! Good luck all in your fight.
