We just returned from a visit to Tallahassee yesterday where we met with several big box computer/electronics suppliers. (ALL THE BIG NAMES)."We're very sorry this happened" - Circuit city says the don't want to be known for a company that is not reputable. That we are not happy with. Their representatives said they were sorry - however this company has not contacted us from their corporate offices in the past year and half that this has happened. Ever. During our meeting with our Local Senator and the big box corporate reps - the senator repeated numerous times that we probably wouldnt be at this place IF corporate and store personnel would have contacted the consumers in this wrong doing. Normal procedure when something happens when a company CARES about their reputation and that they continue a postive relationship with their consumers - they offer some kind of compensation to "make it up to them". Not in this case. This company never had the notion to contact me that two other consumers were provided my familys' personal information.

They CC reps stated that as of this past Sunday -March 16 - they have just NOW implemented procedures in their firedog department to assure this wont happen again. Yet when I brought up that this was also initiated at their returns desk by the clerk putting my returned computer on the shelf and ultimately ending up on the open box table (never checking to see what was on the computer as they sold it in tact just as I returned it.) They said they hadnt looked at that part of the operations in the stores procedures.

No one wants a law to protect you the consumer. Buyer beware!!! Best Buy was also a part of this meeting via conference call. They said they are "working on procedures" they never committed that they had any in place. I know that they have had consumer issues of the similiar nature that happened over 3 yrs ago. Obviously consumers are NOT a priority!!
