I had many problems with my computer. The software they sold me did not work

Dell Computers I had many problems with my computer. The last one was, I had a virus due to the software I had. It went to my other computer. I was told to buy software other than the software that came with the computer, Dell would not cover the cost. I lost everything on both computers due to Dell not clkeaning out the virus like they said they did. The software they sold me did not work.

This is the copy of the letter I wrote them...

I had to cancel this order. The phone number you gave me did not go to you. I feel so ripped off. I now have to keep a product that does not work because tech support and my cable company and the electrician I paid did not work fast enough in the 21 day period. They discovered THIS problem in a 23 day period. There have been so many others. This is after your people had to wipe my system clean TWICE.

I am soooo disappoint in Dell. I have read site after site after site on the Internet where so many others are disappointed in Dell as well. What a shame. I was so excited to get my computer at one time. Now it is just a nightmare. I am joining in the ranks of people that will write in as many webs sites as possible about the nightmare hell they have gone through. From losing all of my important documents, to your people leaving a virus on my computer when they said it was clear. Due to that little error, my other computer received the virus as well. It destroyed the hard drive. I am now without a second computer. Because of it being connected by a networking system and the virus being left in my system. Thank you. Dell takes no responsibility for any of the actions of it customer service or techs. I hope there is a class action law suit with the site that I found. You folks have broken my heart.

Your customer service people are mean. They even argued with me telling me I should have know what products to buy. Many I can not even understand because they do not speak English.

I was writing a book and it is lost! My music was lost! My important docs lost! Micheal Dell wrote a 3 page letter to his employees about how bad he knows everything is. I guess nothing has or will change!

What did I do wrong to you folks??? How is this money coming out of your pocket???

I was told that I paid all the finance charges that I was going to pay and then I see more. I see charges for trying to pay my bill on your site. The largest computer company in the world and you can not handle getting your own payments!

The I see a late fee reversed and then reapplied. I am charged for a virus software that does not detect viruses!
What is it??? If I make you angry, you mess with my account?!

I was on the account, suddenly one day they told me I was not and had to get my husband say it was okay to talk to me.

I just do not understand.

One day we will be in a great position again to buy a computer again. When that day comes...

Hello... Hello!

That letter was concerning McAfee that did not catch a virus that was left on my computer, that I have to pay for.

I was having trouble getting on the Internet. The first thing Dell told me to do was to wipe my hard drive. They said however that I first had to buy an external hard drive, which I did. I bought it from Dell. I was told by Dell techs to put drive C on to drive F. This was supposed to be so easy a monkey could do it. I should have hired a monkey. I lost all docs. And a book I have been writing for over a year. I also lost 1200 songs in Itunes. A tech named Ian worked so hard to try to retrieve everything. It was lost. So we reinstalled. I sent back the external because the company that I bought it from told me it is not used for backing up... Okay?..
Then one tech told me that we could put back on the original Trend micro that came with the computer however it is recommended that I get a different software because it is probably the Trend Micro that is causing all the problems. I did not understand how all of this is possible... But okay.

Over the past year that I have had the computer we did have to uninstall Trend and reinstall Trend 3 times at least. I can not figure out Dell would endorse this product then. So The tech SOLD me McAfee. I could not understand why I should have to pay for this product. After all, I had already paid for Trend and look at all the problems it caused. Now I have to pay for McAfee??? I was not happy. I spoke with customer service and they told me I should have asked for McAfee when I purchased the computer. What? First of all I was not given that choice second of all I did not know anything about this stuff...

Anyway, I was told the old Trend would cover me until the McAfee arrived. My cable company got me hooked up for about a minute. I had problems again and called the tech support again. When I did they discovered a virus... Duh. Could it be because I had a Trend Micro that was no good (Outdated)? Anyway, Cynthia a tech, worked on it, (dell connect) said it is all clear. I asked if we should just wipe the hard drive, after all, I already lost everything, so it is not like it is going to hurt anything. She said all is well, we do not need to do that again. I asked her if she was sure. Now would be the time. She said no. Okay...

Anyway. My Cable company came back out and set up my wireless router again... Still no Internet. Bless the Cable company. What patience. They came out here at least 8 times. Each time just waiting for Dell to do their job. (Me too) Dell even tried replacing the motherboard. Finally call after call. My cable company suggested it might be the area I live in. They said I should hire an electrician to hard wire the house, run a cat 5 cable and forget going wireless. So I did.in the meantime Jessie from my cable company realized the I still had a Virus. Oh snap!

So I call Dell, they said I have to Wipe my hard drive again... Of course! (Now that I have put some music back on.) Then we hard wired my home, Johnnie from cable company sets up the router, I get Internet.

But it is too late for my son's little HP. The funeral is 2 days later. Viruses got to it and destroyed the hard drive. 6 weeks of nightmares. All for nothing.

I spent hours and hours and hours on the phone, crying, cursing, begging, paying... For what?
