AOL what more can be said? This is the most horrible company created. I bought a gateway computer a couple of years ago with the free aol for a year deal... Ok that was cool... I then decided to try AOl's DSL highspeed service... MISTAKE!
I recieved the DSL modem and starting using the service... It kinda sucked so I decided to cancel DSL Service. I called AOL DSL and cancelled the service... The phone rep said ok no prob. Three months later I get billed a additional 100.00 for the DSL modem.
I thought I already paid for the thing from the start... Back the truck up! I call AOL DSL service again..."no sir you havent paid for the modem thats why you were charged". I said ok Ill return the freakin modem... The service rep assured me I would recieve my refund for 100 dollars within a couple of days. Ok no prob! Couple days later my account is not showing any type of credit... 10 days later no credit...
12 days later I recieve e-mail notifying me that my modem was recieved by AOl. I thought "cool now things will speed up!"...
14 days later it dawned on me that I'll never get a refund! So I call... First call. The rep decides to transfer me to the reconnection department "hello?" I'm calling about a refund not reconnecting! Call 2 yes they recieved the modem but cant give me a straight answer on the refund...
I get put on hold... Which eventually got hung up. Call 3 the rep transfers me again to the wrong department... Call 4 same treatment... I'm about to give up on this refund but I have decided to keep calling these people.
Yes its only a hundred dollars but how many other folks have gotten the run around by AOl. I will keep trying... Its kinda fun now calling and listening to the incompetent customer service department. My next step is to cancel AOl for good!
