In the spring of I spent about three thousand dollars on a notebook computer with the understanding that for the three year period following my purchase if anything happened to my notebook it would be repaired or replaced within three days. The only reason I purchased the computer was for the assurance that I would not be without a functioning system. I need my computer for both work and school. I cannot be without it.
So, when my computer stopped working on the 18th of January, I called HP. I didn't recieve the package to send them my computer until the 22nd of January. Needless to say, I did not recieve the 3-day turn around service I paid out the ying-yang for. Here's the best part. I did not get my computer back until the following month.
On the 18th of February I recieved my computer back from HP and fired it up. To my immediate chagrin, the computer did not work. With work and homework piling up all around me I called HP back. They send me anther box and I shipped it back off to them.
Here it is now, February 27th and I just recieved my computer back from FedEx. Guess what? That's right! It still does not work! I called them back and was told that we just had to keep going through the process of sending it back and forth. I asked why they just didn't replace it and was told they don't do that.
So, looking at my warranty which clearly says, "3-day turnaround" and "repair/replace" I can't but realize that I have been ripped off. As far as my options, I have none. I should have bought a cheap laptop and saved all that money I invested in a warranty so I could just buy another cheap laptop in the event something like this were to happen.
