I was needing information for a money grant for a relative that was destitute. They advertized a program that was "free" only have to pay shipping.
That part was fine. They said program was free for 26 days. What they did not relate was that they would then charge your credit card $39.95 each month.
They said nothing about how to cancel or that you would need to cancel to eliminate further charges.
When I found the charge I called the number that was on my card bill.
But I didn't have time to wait more than the 56 minutes that I was on hold.
I disputed the charge with my card company and that is still pending. I did get a phone call recently asking why I wanted out and told them the program was useless for my needs.
Then I also got another charge from a company that I had no idea what is was. Found out this was a sister company that I was in no way aware of.
This one I didn't even bother to call, I just disputed the charge with my credit card company.
In either of the above did I authorize charges. Once they get your card number the become invisible to contact.
