Best buy get rid of upset customer by threatening them store#352

I bought a laptop came with hd dvd player and was told that if will output on my 1080p lcd tv. I paid $900 for this toshiba only to find out that it wont play. Also it came with express slot which we not compatible with my pcmcia verizone wireless card for which i pay $60 a month. I went back next day to tell them this is the situation and they were asking me a 15% restocking fee. I spoke to evening shift people and they told me take this laptop to geek squad and if they are able to reproduce this we will wave the restocking fee.

I dont know why they are called geek squad, they are dont know anything. When i took this laptop to them they said its a simple solution, press alt f5, hahahaha. I was laughing, then he asked him to show me how to do it. I qucikly connected the laptop to a lcd monitor and was not able to play the hd dvd's which came free with this laptop. First off all he did not had a clue why this was happening. He wrote the error down went inside and came back saying this wont display on 1080p tv because you dont have hdmi output and you have to watch the hd dvd on laptop. I said well if this dont work on high definition tv i wouldnt have bought it in first place.

Then they asked to replace it with what ever computer and they will waive off the restocking fee (this was samantha the store manager). So you know now that geek squad is just a crook.

Then i decided that i wll downgrade to a cheaper laptop. The laptop i was going to do an exchange was coming tomorrow and samantha said come here after 4 and i will help you. She did what she said and replace it withe the new laptop and charged back the amount to me.

But when i opened the box i found a plastic case missing on the bottom of the laptop and could litterly see the circuit board. It was 10 in night and i decided to call store and let them know. I called them and they said come and show it to geek squad and we will de a replacement.

Now here the trouble starts, i go back the next day and went to the customer rep and told them that there was a manufacturing defect in the laptop please check and replace it. The customer rep said ok let go in front and show it to geek squad. I was asked to stand in line, the lady who did my exchange previous day asked me what was the problem, i said there has been a manufacturing defect and toshiba has forgot to fill the hole next to wireless on/off switch at the bottom and i can see the circuit board. Now the morning shift manager comes and starts looking at me, the lady askes me my credit card and then looks on the computer. Then manager comes up to me and start his part of the story, tell me ok mister what seems to be the problem you are buying and returning a lot. I said sell me a good computer i wont come back. He then makes up something and tell me that you have a history of returning things, i was surprised, because i have returned a product to best buy only once and they charged me 15% restocking fee. Then he tells me that we will not exchange it and he will ask me to take the laptop and leave. Then i see couple of other guys standing behind me, just like i am a criminal, then i tell him how can you do that. He says when we gave it to you, all the item where present in the box. How can he claim such a thing, the box was sealed. Then he started talk to me like a gangster, he say he wont replace it do what ever you want to do and take the laptop and leave and do not come and shop. The other guys says leave now or he will call the police. I was standing there feeling like a criminal. I didnt not expect such a thing before christmas eve. Then they start following me and tell me that dont here again if you come we will consider it as tresspassing and call cops on me. I was so surprised. They just got rid of me. They was also wathching me in parking lot making sure that i leave as soon as possible. So that it wont effect other customer.

I could not do anything because they threatened me to call cops. Its there premises and they property i would be in falt, so i left from best buy feeling like a criminal. So now you know guys best buy will get rid off you anyway they wish and they are just there to make money and there is not customer service as such. I wont buy anything from best buy again.
