Bad laptops

My Boyfriend and I both bought solo 9500 laptops from gateway. He did not even have his for 2 days and he had to send it in for repairs. I had to send my laptop in about 4 months after i got it because it overheated and burnt out my laptop.

We both have been sending these laptops in at least every 4 months for both laptops for some kind of repair. OVERHEATING is the major one with also video failure. We are using these laptops for college and we are both taking computer course. Can some one can tell me how in the heck can we do homework and test when both of our laptops die and we dont have a laptop. Then we dont get them back for at least 2 weeks.

I can be doing homework with my laptop on my lap making sure i am not covering the fan. My legs are red from the heat. I used a laser tempurature and it was reaching about 140 degrees on the bottom (and that is how hot it gets on a desk also just surfing the internet for 30 minutes on dial up)

We have been calling them and all they want us to do is send them in again and again. THey told us that they were sending us laptops we got the first 2. His worked but now it is overheating like crazy. I got mine turned it on and it did not even work out of the box. SO i call and complain. THey just told me to send it back and they would send me a new one. Well guess what i never got one.

So we told our parents what was going on. So they all got mad and decided to try getting something out of gateway. After they called they said yeah we will send them a new laptops again. Well we finally got papers for it the other day. We need to send our laptops we are currently using in school in first before they give us anything. And it would be about 20 days or more until we got them. So we told them how are we suppose to pass school if we have now laptops.

They just said that is not our area. They also told them we want all of our money back they say we can not do that. We have a warrenty until 2004. We sent both laptops in 7 times now and they are still very bad.

We worked all summer last year to make money to pay for these laptops. We paid extra for top of the line so they would last 2-3 years for college. Why can they give us our money back so we can buy something that will last. Now that they wont FIX them again. We are both going to be wasting all of our summers work to pay for new laptops again!!! We both think this is stupid we need to waste 2 summers worth of money 1 for buying a pos and 2 for buying a new one to get us through college.

HOw in the heck are we suppose to pay for rent, bills, ect... If we need to keep buying laptops and when we did buy laptop from gateway and the stupid things dont work what a waste of MONEY
DONT EVERY BUY A GATEWAY BUY A DELL or something instead
