This guy calling himself "thehollywoodmetro" on Ebay sells mostly junk. But he did have a used computer up for bid and I needed one. So I asked him a few questions and he responded quickly. I thought it would be safe after reading his answers about the computer.
So I bid on it. I won. I paid immediately through Paypal. Then I asked him if he received the payment and if he was gonna send the computer. He didn't respond. He got the payment and then the communication slowed down all of a sudden. I started to think I bought from a loser, but I figured maybe I was overreacting. So I waited. Didn't hear back.
A few days later he said he'd send the computer in a few days. Even though I paid right away through Paypal. But, ok. Whatever. I waited and waited. After 2 weeks, I receive a box with speakers. I emailed him asking what's going on. He said he had to send it in 3 boxes in order to ship it to me. So then a few days later I get a keyboard and mouse.
I wait and about another week later comes this flimsy, beat up, weak box that looks like he got out of the garbage and taped together. He sends the tower in the most idiotic way. He sends it in this weak box wrapped in NEWSPAPER. The tower was busted on the front panel. I couldn't believe he'd send it that way! So I put the computer together and try to turn it on. I had so many problems but finally got it to turn on. Then I unhooked it and had to get back on my old one because "hollywoodmetro" didn't send the software I needed.
I contact him and told him about the computer panel being broken. All of a sudden he says that I am not happy so I should take it to the post office and then they will give a refund to him. Then he will send me a refund of my OVER 300.00 for a crap! So I'm supposed to trust him to send me a refund. I have to take the 3 boxes to the post office and the only peice that would be considered for a refund is the tower alone. But I read up on it and the post office will look to see if the packaging was why the item was damaged.
Of course it was! He packed it in a thin, wobbly box with newspaper. So I knew I wouldn't get a refund. I just told him that I would keep it and asked him to send the software I paid for. He didn't respond. I kept emailing him and he wouldn't respond. All of a sudden he sends me a mediator to work out the problem, claiming I am harrassing him!
Then he tells me he won't send the software unless I promise not to leave negative feedback for him on Ebay! I told him I would do what I need to do and I would like my software I PAID FOR. He wouldn't send it. After 2 weeks, I told him that by law he has to send me my item I paid for within a certain amount of time. I would file charges if he didn't. He said that he didn't care and he'd wait for the police. He used profanity in his emails too.
Then I didn't hear from him for another week. Then I get an email saying that he sent it and I would have to sign for it and that he never wants to hear from me again. I get the software and it's not even for the computer he sent me! So the whole thing was worthless. It ended up that the motherboard was useless. The only thing good on it was the RAM. So I paid over 300 dollars for nothing. I sold it for parts and got about 30 bucks back. BEWARE OF THIS SELLER.
He has alot of good feedback but look at what you are buying. He may be good at selling cups, records, and other useless crap, but don't buy anything of value from him. After I paid promptly through Ebay, he left me negative feedback saying I was the worse person he's dealt with. Well DITTO! I tried calling him to work it out but his contact information was incorrect. He's a jerk and should be avoided. If you want a 2 dollar record, he's the guy. If you want a computer to be delivered correctly and if you want it to work and actually get what you paid for, avoid him at all costs.
