EliteXtreme has been the most unpleasant on-line buying experience that I have ever had. I found out, unfortunately, that my experience is not an isolated incident.
I ordered 2 cell phone covers (skins) on 09/15/06. After about 7-10 days passed and my order had not arrived, I contacted EliteXtreme via email. It took a couple of days for them to respond to me, but it was to let me know that one of my skins was on back-order, and it would take another 2 weeks for it to arrive. I asked them, via email, to cancel my order for both skins. If I was made aware that the skin was on back-order in the first place (which is a common practice among businesses), I would have never ordered from EliteXtreme. The response I received, "we cannot process returns/refunds via email."
The first time I called EliteXtreme I thought everything was handled by Ken (with whom I spoke with every time I called) in an efficient manner. I was mistaken.
A few days later, the skin that was NOT on back-order arrived at my home. So, I called Ken again and made him aware that I would be sending the skin back for a refund. And again, PLEASE cancel the other order.
On 10/11/06, almost a month after I placed my order, I sent Ken an email regarding the status of my refund. His response, "unfortunately, we have no record of receiving a return from you. Do you have a tracking number available? Please write us back at your earliest convenience."
Of course, I didn't have a tracking number available. I sent the skin back through USPS First Class Mail, which was only 63 cents. I mean, why would I want to pay more shipping costs when I specifically asked him NOT to send it out?
Anyway, I emailed the company several times since then with no response. I've called Ken at least once a week for the past 3 weeks. Every time I call, "we just received your return and it will be processed within 1-2 days." And they received my refund on so many different days that it's hard to keep track.
The last time I contacted Ken was today, 11/03/06. And again, I was told that I would receive my refund today. Right. I've given up hope that I will EVER receive my refund. I also asked him if I could be refunded for the shipping charges for the skin on back-order... The one that was never shipped... And he told me that it was a flat shipping fee, so I could not be refunded. And in all honesty, I should be refunded for ALL of the shipping costs because I specifically asked Ken NOT TO SHIP THEM OUT. That's a scam in and of itself.
The reason I'm filing this complaint with consumer complaints is because I want anyone who has had a similar experience with EliteXtreme to FILE A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT. I filed a complaint with the BBB, but I'm sure that wont get me anywhere, as I see some other customers have already tried to take that route.
YES, you CAN file a criminal complaint for this sort of scam. You need to file with your local police and they will contact the authorities in Florida, who will, in-turn, contact EliteXtreme. My complaint alone may not generate much fear within the company, but if enough dissatisfied customers contact the authorities, I can guarantee that future customers will not be scammed by this dishonest company... Because there will no longer be an EliteXtreme.
