On two different occasions, one in january of and in august of i tried to buy two different dell computers, and neither time was i successful. The first was at a dell kiosk. The sales person refused to sell me the advertised special, dissed the machine and told me that i was better off with no machine at all. There was no one else to talk to, and so i left and bought a computer at best buy, but i tried to complain, but the dell customer service will only talk to you after you have a contract, and you cannot get them to transfer you to a supervisor. I finally got some attention through company investments, and was told that was an aberation and would never happen again. At that point it was an abstraction.
Then recently i tried to buy a notebook online, but the advertised offer, with shipping and handling included wouldn't come up online. When i called for technical support, they told me no such a special was being advertised, at the same time i had two in front of my face, with the code numbers. Again, in all of dell country, there were no supervisors available.
I went back to best buy.
Bait and switch is against the law, but apparently they don't know that in texas. The department of agriculture in wisconsin, the agency that looks into these things is questioning dell. Good luck. I should have checked first in usacomplaints. Coms.
