Beware of priceline fine lines and misleading/dishonest advertising on TV, Radio and web sites (name your own price)
Due to the power outtage in South Florida, after Wilma, (10)
I was seeking hotel for few days in different web sites; expedia, orbitz and Priceline as there was not power in South Florida (Wilma Aftermath) On Priceline, they have a window that says name your own price, I did for a 3 star hotel $50.00, they said they will check with different hotels and you will have a choice, there was none, only one a Days Inn (Orlando, FL) for $50.00 the same price I had input on the window, which booking directly with the hotel could be just 35.00 a night.
Priceline had charged my credit card $234.47 and I didn't realize they had already booked, they said they have a warning on their web site when naming your own price that says you are not able to reverse this, however I didn't even know it until I noticed the charge on my credit card few days later.
Pay close attention to their tricky policy so this won't happen to you!
If they did have this note I am sure it was on very small print, people need to know about this so they don't do the same mistake it happen to me and cost me $234.47
The only time I book a hotel with them a long time ago, the hotel chain put me on a smoker room, I am very allergic and my only option after I arrived to the hotel was to use the smoker room. Refund was never an option.
