Priceline does not live up to their promise of best price guarantee and "you can be sure you're getting the lowest rate at top notch hotel". I believe this is dishonest advertising and misleading the public into thinking we are getting the best rates. I booked a hotel with Priceline and was charged a rate that was significantly higher than that given by the hotel. It was only after I had checked out of the hotel that I found this out. I had booked 2 nights at Hilton Homewood Suites in Reno, NV and was charged $224.10 plus tax per night for a total of $507.86 through Priceline. The hotel rate was $188.24 plus tax for a total of $425.42. How can Priceline claim to provide the lowest rate guarantee when the rate at the hotel was considerably cheaper. Knowing what I now know I will never use Priceline again and be very wary of any guarantees advertised by online websites.
