Recently, I used Priceline's name your own price function. As you give your credit card up front - they claim they will match you to a hotel that meets your request.
When I arrived at the hotel that accepted my request I found out why they accepted...
1. The advertised price was lower than my offer
2. The star rating for the hotel was way below what I requested.
There were bugs in the room, no staff at the hotel to discuss complaints with and the hotel charged an additional $12 for a fee that was not discussed on Priceline!
I contacted Priceline customer service who said the hotel was unwilling to refund the extra charges so they would not give me the $12 back or the difference in price from the charge I submitted and what the hotel advertised for.
I was completely disgusted with their service and their resolution... Or lack of I should say.
So - YES, I tried to resolve the issue through Priceline and they sent a form letter back... Nice!
