I reserved a hotel in New Orleans using Priceline. Later I learned that the hotel, through its own website, offered a better room at a lower rate — amounting to over $200 savings for the stay had I booked through the Hotel's website instead of Priceline. I cancelled the Priceline reservation and was charged $25 as a cancellation fee. I asked about Priceline's "Low Price Guarantee" and was told that because the room offered through the Hotel's website was a better room than the room booked through Priceline, the guarantee did not apply.
If considering booking through Priceline, I recommend you check the airline, hotel, rental car company, etc. First. Priceline's "Low Price Guarantee" is a sham!
