Advise for dealing with UBID fraudulent deals

Advise for dealing with any and all fraudulent deals made by UBID:

If UBID ever screws you over, here are three things to do at the FIRST sign of trouble:

1. IMPORTANT! Go to the Chicago BBB at http://www.chicago. BBB.org / and file a complaint against UBID (The Chicago BBB has investigated UBID in the past and are VERY experienced at dealing with UBID's scamming activities).

2. Notify in your emails with UBID that you have filed a complaint with the BBB of Chicago and tell them that if you do not hear from them in 2 days you will ask your credit card company to put the UBID transaction on hold.

3. Contact your credit card company and ask them to place a hold on the UBID transaction. If UBID never shipped the item to you, inform your credit card company that you did not authorize UBID to charge your credit card for something you did not receive and that they basicly stole you credit card number (Note: Ubid has a policy of charging your credit card before your item is even shipped). If UBID charges your credit card before the product is shipped they are in effect stealing your credit card number and in my opinion they should have criminal charges filed against them for these practices.

I followed the above steps and got a full refund from UBID.
Good Luck, and may God have mercy on your soul.

My history with UBID:
I have had problems with UBID in the past. They truly have the worst customer service department that I have ever dealt with. They are a poor excuse for a company and I know, very soon, they will go out of business. You just cant run a company like they are doing and expect people to remain customers. I have purchased two items from UBID. One item I purchased was a "refurbished" piece of junk that broke the week after I received it.

After numerous emails to UBID I was informed that it is not their problem and I would have to take it up with the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer and was told that it is UBID's problem, but they would be happy to look at the device if I shipped it back to them and pay for the parts to repair the product. The device I purchased was a shower cd player. I paid $47 for the piece of crap and I calculated that it would cost me another $20 to ship it to the manufacturer and pay for its return. Through talking with the manufacturer I was told that if they could fix it, the repairs would be at least $20. I was not about to put a total of $40 more into that cash cow so I was stuck with a broken cd player that I payed $47 for.

I also bought another product from UBID (before I knew that the cd player was broken). I never received the product and was given the runaround from UBID for the next 3 months! It turns out that the product was never even shipped by UBID but my credit card was charged anyway. At one point, UBID quit even aknowledging my emails. I then turned to the mighty Better Business Bureau (BBB). After I informed UBID that the BBB would be contacting them about the matter and that I contacted my credit card company telling them that UBID basically stole my credit card number and that I gave them no authorization to charge my card for an item I did not receive, UBID's "office of the president" contacted me, said they were sorry, and reversed the charge to my credit card. I canceled my account with UBID the day after and I will never buy anything from them again. I am also telling everyone I know of how I was mistreated.

Ubid's problem is that once they have the sale they think their job is done. They try their hardest to pass your problems to other people. They never take responsiblity for anything they do wrong.
