Square Trade implies it is a part of eBay and also implies that if you pay a fee, they will remove negative feedback if you are not at fault... I fell for it as each time you get a negative feedback on eBay, you get an email from them telling you the negative feedback can probably be removed. They have you pay an annual fee up front with 30 days "trial" to get all money refunded. They dragged out the "investigation" until after the 30 days was up and then said there was no cancellation.
I'd assumed I'd get my remaining credit; when they closed the case although I'd done nothing wrong, didn't remove the feedback and charged an additional $10 for the mediator. I complained to eBay who say that Square Trade is independent and has nothing to do with them. I don't believe that for a minute. At the very least they're getting a kickback or they wouldn't let Square Trade be inserted into your auction listings. This is a total ripoff and false advertising at the very least!
