Here I am, another trainer disclosing practices I have witnessed while in employ of CustomBuiltPT.
Some will say I am a disgruntled employee. Yes that is true. I have been so for quite some time but until now haven't spoken up. I was a trainer (among manygreat trainers), working and witnessing unethical behavior.
I witnessed people being badgered into contracts, lied about cotracts, told outrageous results they would receive if they would only sign up for sessions. They were convinced they needed 3 days a week for best results. As a trainer I would have to undo all the brainwashing the clients received at thir 'free workout'. Those free workouts are only given for the sole purpose of selling session.
The motto I heard was 'kick their a*' during the free assessment; this was done so people would feel the need to buy! I stopped doing those free assessments.
I witnessed people being hired as managers (and trainers) that did not have REAL PT certifications. When I mentioned this, this manager was let go 'temporarily'; One day he came back with what I suspected was a fake certificate. I personally looked up this person on the ACE website, and he didn't have the certiciation! It was a fraud! Most PT's at our club only had 'online certificates' w/no formal training!
All CBPT does is move managers around, when they get complaints. This fraudulent manager I am speaking of didn't even know terms such as Plantar Facsitis was! CBPT also doesn't do background checks on their salesmen. I know of one who has a mug shot on the internet for having been arrested for theft!
I witnessed credit card information and personal info, that is protected by privacy protection laws, left lying around for anyone to steal identities!!!
People were told they would receive NUTRITIONAL help. When I questioned this as a trainer (because trainers are not allowed to give daily eating plans unless they are registered nutritonist), I was told by manager "Techinically we aren not lying, because they get to use our webite.". Really? Their website is a joke! It doesn't even have sipmple foods like 'cottage cheese' for tracking diet.
I have witnessed numerous great clients having issues of double billing, extended billing even after cancelling sessions, and were NEVER given any money returned to them! CBPT does not care about the people once they have the money from them.
CBPT really doesn't even care about it's great trainers. Trainers work for only$8 per session and have to put in many extra hours trying to get the money they worked for! People are slamming the trainers but in my experience the trainers were not the issue. Trainers are being ripped off. I was ripped off by manager! When I kept asking this guynfor the money he owed me he then stopped giving me any new clients, while the other trainers received lots!
From my experience, CBPT never answers calls to disgruntled clients. From myexpereince CBPT doesn't care about clients or trainers. From my experience CBPT trys to keep as much money in the owners pockets as possible! From my experience CBPT is unprofessional in every way! From my expereince CBPT does nothing to stop unethicalpractices by sales managers! They simply move them to another club temporaily!
