I called the toll free number advertised on TV to receive a "free sample" of Avlimil. I was told that the month's supply was free and I needed to supply a debit or credit card to pay for shipping.
While I was on the phone the salesman tried to "sign me up" for a "membership" in their "managed care" program. This program sends you new shipments of the product every other month and charges your card automatically. I specifically told him I did NOT want to enroll in the program at this time. I just wanted the free sample and, after using it, I would then decide if I wanted to receive more of their product.
Little did I know that my request NOT to receive automatic shipments was ignored. They charged my debit card $70.00 without my permission. This charge resulted in an over-draft on my checking account with the additional embarassment of having my card be "declined" at a local store, not to mention my bank charging me an over-draft fee.
I called Berkely and told them I wanted my money refunded and the man gave me a hard time at first but eventually told me I could send the 2-month shipment back and they would refund my money upon receipt of same. At the time of this writing, the shipment has not arrived so the final outcome is unknown. I'll be sure to let you know what happens.
