Recently, I was invited to interview for an agent position at Healthplan Headquarters. The first person who interviewed me was very kind and indicated to me that I posed a professionalism that was not commonly found when people come to interview. She invited me to meet with Susanne Thompson who is the owner and CEO of the company.
Finally, I arrived to meet with Susanne Thompson for the interview and told that its a growing company and that there would be several opportunities available. It sounded very promising and I of course looked forward to finding out more about the company and hoping to be given an opportunity to work there.
Though she invited me to contact her again in a few days to discuss the opportunity, she never returned my calls; and whenever I called for her, I was told that she was in a meeting. I believe I was discriminated against because I am Afro-American.
