LA Fitness claims to be friendly, helpful and efficient! Ha! Since October 15th, I have been TRYING to terminate my membership. I have put the request in writing, confirmed the company received the request and I have even re-faxed the request in writting TWICE NOW (once on December 3rd and again today on January 3rd).
I have been billed the monthly membership fees for 3 additional months after I requested to be cancelled. And they are billing a bank account that I no longer use, so my bank is charging me fees for these ACH debits that LA Fitness is sending to them. To date I have not been cancelled and have not received a refund for all the membership fees and Non-Sufficient Fund fees that I have received from my bank.
I have notified LA Fitness that if this matter is not resolved I will look for alternative means (legal means) of terminating my membership with them and receiving the refund owed to me. So in the mean-time, I did a google search on them and found I am NOT the first person to write a consumer complaints against this company.
Hopefully these reports will help other consumers realize what kind of a company LA Fitness is before signing up with them.
