My husband brought home a flyer advertising "Affordable Healthcare". There was no company name, only a toll free number. I called and reached a recording for Peak Membership Alliance, I left my name & number requesting more info. I got a call back in a day or two. I Googled Peak Membership Alliance and found a website. It looked legitimate.
When I spoke to the representative he sounded very helpful and answered my questions. I asked about participating doctors and he told me to check the BeechStreet website for a complete list of paticipating healthcare providers. Our doctors were on the list so I enrolled.
You needed to give a bank account number because all funds are electronically transferred. He told me I would receive verification by e-mail before this would happen and I would get a packet in the mail.
The funds were withdrawn on 12/10/07 and I have received nothing. I have called and left messages everyday since then and no one has returned a call yet.
Consumer Beware
