I ordered a "FREE SAMPLE" on April 13 online. Hmmm so-called "FREE" - I had to pay $7 and some change for shipping! I figured, "what the heck, if it works." I also threw in the Lipo capsules. My total was $37.90. I never received a confirmation e-mail regarding my purchase.
I noticed today, when I called to check on my checking account (like I do every other day to check off items that have gone through) that my checking account is - get this - OVERDRAWN by over $100!!! They JUST NOW charged my account the $37.90, which was fine. What overdrew my account was the bogus charge for $129.90 for some automatic enrollment or automated shipping or whatever.
SAY WHAT? I called my bank. They gave me the company's # to call and told me that should the company refund my money, that they are also responsible for paying my over draft fees. When I called Ultima Patch, just now, the guy told me, "well, it was purchased on the 13th and shipped on the 18th. I don't know why you haven't received it yet."
So, I asked him, "how can it have already been shipped out so long ago, and the company is JUST NOW CHARGING my account?" He couldn't answer that. I then asked him about the charge for $129.90, to which he explained about the automatic shipping/enrollment thing. I told him I never authorized that.
He said, "well, you had 12 days to cancel." I asked him, "how was I supposed to know that you would charge me $129.90 in 12 days if I didn't cancel? Cancel what? I didn't see ANYWHERE when I was checking out that I would be enrolled in anything and charged an exorbitant fee of $129.90. I would have remembered that, and not gone any further with the checkout proceedings!" He gave me some weak excuse like, "well, I think you had to click 'accept terms' a couple of times before your checkout was complete." I told him, "Don't hand me that crap.
Number one, NO SITE has you click "accept terms" more than once. That's rediculous! Number two, I would have remembered seeing something like having to cancel before a certain period - especially when it comes to being charged $129.90!! You can still charge me for the $37.90, but I want my $129.90 back - I DID NOT AUTHORIZE IT!"
He said that he would forward the request to a supervisor and someone would call me back. However, he was unable to give me a time when that would be. I have no choice but to take him at his word. Thankfully, I have people in my family who can help me out with the overdraft and the fees that have occurred because of this company's negligence. I can't believe they did this to me! I have never been over drafted in all my life! If I don't hear anything by tomorrow, I'm contacting my bank AGAIN, as per the
