American medical response ambulance
Exorbitant charge

On Jan 22, I experienced near fainting symptoms while at the gym. The ambulance was called and took me to Mills Hospital which is 1.3 miles away. It took 10 minutes. Subsequently they sent me a bill for $2,627.85. I called them and told them that I found the amount exorbitant and furthermore I had no capacity to pay that bill. They offered me to reduce the bill by 20% if I set up a direct payment arrangement through my bank. However, that overlooks at the problem of my capacity. My insurance, is Blue Cross Anthem (PPO) claims that AMR is not covered. I used the service and I would like to pay for it but the amount is simply too much.
