A Warning to all those that may need an ambulance:
Recently I had a seizure at my doctor's office and an ambulance was called to transport me to the hospital. Because of the seizure I had no say in whether or not to take this Extremely Expensive service. Patient beware, if you have the chance to say NO, please do!
The ambulance service transported me a total of 4.1 miles and the bill is $901.95. That comes out to be almost $220 per mile!!! They didn't provide me with medication, oxygen, or anything... Just basically a ride to the hospital.
It is ridiculous the amount of money this company wants me to pay them. Heck, I could've rented a limo service and a temporary nurse assistant to go with me and still had loads of money left-over!!!
So again I say, "Patient Beware!". You have the right to say "NO". You have the right to ask for a quote for the cost of transport. And even to ask for a different ambulance service! Don't be afraid to be your own advocate!
I hope this consumer complaints helps you... Be well!
