Balance billing fraud

My daughter was taken by ambulance to a local hospital on 1/10 after a 911 call. AMR billed my insurance 1654.00 for a 2.3 mile ride. My insurance did not allow $97.00 paid 1401.30 and told me my payment would be 155.70. (10%) I paid the 155.70 and AMR is threatening to take me to court for the 97.00 not allowed by my insurance. According to California law, AMR must fight with insurance and not me, however when I called AMR stated that they are allowed to balance bill, and I could call my insurance but they would sue for the 97.00
