We purchased a 62" samsung televsion about 3 years ago. It is a hd tv, we paid the extra for Hd to keep it current for the next 10 years we hoped. About 2 years and 8 months later our set suddenly went into three colors and an a big U shaped screen. We were moving in 4 weeks, so we held off on fixing it. We finally called out a service tech that had been refered to us. The guy told me he had nothing but trouble with this company but he would try to get a service manual out of them.
I guess his expericnce has been service that takes about 2 months on parts. WEll, true to form 30 days later, no service manual. I called Samsung and after being run around by 2 customer service people that never bothered to have anyone call me, I landed on one person that did get a manager to call and leaved a message that the manual was being shipped. 3 weeks later, no manual and I called again. Finally we got a manual. The tech came out, took off the back of the set and tried to get it fixed. He told me it is terrible to work on, not service friendly at all so very expensive to fix. And no time frame on parts since their service is awful. So I sit for 3 months no Television and a 75 dollar service call.
He told me to fix it would be between 700-1000.00 at least. We are saving for another brand at this point in time. I think 3 years on a televsion of that expense is a rip-off. And Samsung should help with this lemon. But so far, no help has been offered, it was like pulling teeth to get customer service. You can bet your bottom dollar that this set will be put out by the road for a month with lemons all over it, and no one in my family nor my friends will purchase anything from Sansung. The product is terrible, and they don't stand behind it or offer customer service.
