Warranty purchased by Walmart for iPod is worthless! Internet

Terrible service plan!

I bought this service plan, knowing that my children would be the primary users of the iPod. I expected the Walmart name would backup their warranty. A year into the iPod, the screen starting to fade. The icons were barely visible. I sent the iPod in for servicing at United Camera, mentioning the screen was fading and that there was a clicking sound.
The iPod was returned with a new LCD. Repairs notes stated that all diagnostic tests were performed and the unit was operating properly.

However, there was no sound - ear buds did not give off any sound, either. I charged the unit and there was still was no sound. I asked for the unit to be repaired, again, and the UPS label arrived a day or two later. After checking the UPS website, I noted UPS delivered the unit but had not received any notification from United Camera that they had the iPod or that it was in repairs. I "live chatted" their company and after some confusion about what was being repaired, they
said it was being entered on their website and that it was in process. I received an email that the repairs were completed and that it was being shipped back. Now I get a call from National Electronic (406-268-4084) telling me that there was liquid damage and that the unit was being shipped back and that the warranty is voided.

My question? Why wasn't the warranty voided before they replaced the LCD? The iPod wasn't given to the kids as the sound never worked. I only charged the unit to ensure the lack of power wasn't to blame for the lack of sound. There wasn't an opportunity for the unit to get any liquid on it before it was shipped back... The lesson learned (and has
been learned by alot of other warranty purchasers of Walmart) is not to buy any electronic items and their associated "warranty" from Walmart.
