Don't think that because you sign a contract with the largest home improvement company, you will be taken care of if something goes wrong with the installation. Their contract covers them, their vendor and their installer.
I signed up to have a patio cover installed, and the installer sent out people who couldn't read their specs, much less speak English. They destroyed the siding on my condo and drilled into my existing patio when they were supposed to have poured footers for the support posts. Now I am stuck paying for the damage and for the cost of getting out of the contract, which is more than the 25% listed in the contract.
For over a year I have tried to get them to admit it was their fault and to just let me out of the contract, but no way! Their many pages of contracts cover them no matter what happens and whose fault it is. I will never use Home Depot for anything again, and I am spreading the news in any and all surveys open to me!
