After Bill was paid cancelled my account and charged me $200 per line

OK, i have decided to write this about an experience i had back in January. I thought this was taken care of until i pulled a credit report and saw 2 seperate collection accounts from t-mobile showing i owed $400 each.in january my account was susspended for non-payment. On January 11th i called and explained that i would have the $350 needed to restore my account and i would pay my bill on the 15th. I called on the 15th at around 9 am and spoke to the billing department. I paid the $350 and was told that my phones would be turned back in in 1-2 hours. At 11am, i called again to see what was taking so long. I was informed by the billing department, that my account was CLOSED and that i had $400 owing, $200 per line... I explained that i could not be canceled because i just made my payment this morning and was told 2 hours ago that my phones would be back on in 1-2 hours. How am i canceled when my balance was $0 and my phones were in the process of being turned back on. They explained that through a glitch in there system, i should have been cancelled at 5pm on the 14th but it dosnt take effect till 9:00 when there systems turn over on the new day. After many, many supervisors i politely explained i would not be paying the $400 as my account was current when i was canceled. They cannot cancel my account with a $0 balance and then charge me early termination fees. The supervisor i spoke to explained that he was sorry for the screw up but all he could do is cut the fees in half. I told him that this is not acceptable as i AM NOT PAYING early termination fees on an account that i had just paid $350 to get my phones turned on. About 2 months later i received paperwork in the mail from t-Mobile asking for $400 before they sent me to collections, i wrote in a nicely worded paper explaining the whole situation and how i would not be paying these false charges. I received a call from some supervisor a month later or so and was told that he had read my letter and checked out my story and, by time stamps on my account, my account was paid before it was closed, and that he was taking care of these charges and to not worry about them anymore. Now fast forward to 2010 and i pulled my credit report (looking at buying a new house) and on my report i see not 1 $400 t-mobile collection account, but 2. Reporting the same debt more then once in against the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Not to mention they told me not to worry about it because i was charged these fees wrongly. Called T-Mobile and was informed that they cannot help me because none of my info is listed except, name, address, phone number, and amount i owe. They give me some number of some collection agency. I call them and speak to a supervisor immediately. I explain the situation, about the fees and about how its reported 2 times on my report. They tell me they do that because people are more likely to call in when they see it 2 times instead of 1??? He tells me the only way to remove the 2 charges is to pay the bill, when i asked for verification of debt they refused it to me. Now i am stuck with hiring an attorney to get these charges removed as they tell me i cant fight the debt anymore because its established. T-mobile and the collection agency was notified on 4/28 about this bogus charge and double credit report filling, they have 45 days to respond or i will file a lawsuit against not only them, but the collection agency to. I have now been a customer with Verizon since january of i have paid over $200 a month to verizon for these 5 years, as well as over $3250 in phones in those 5 years. I hope something is done with these bogus charges and they face fines.
