NON-EXISTENT customer service, website sucks!

I found 2 Cricket phone I wanted to order over the internet, for my son and myself, and called customer service to ask a question regarding the phone service. The customer service rep said he could complete my order over the phone and give me a "better deal".

This service rep took the order for my phone and services that I wanted. I mentioned that I wanted insurance on the 2 $150 phones I was buying. At the end of the order, he repeated it back to me. I said, "Oh, I wanted the insurance too." He said "Call back when you activate your phones and they can add it."

The phones arrived; I called to activate them and mentioned that I wanted the insurance. The person I spoke to said I couldn't get it because "insurance had to be ordered at the time the phones were ordered."

I called back again about this complaint and was told by another rep that they would check into it. I never heard back from them.

Once again, I called. This time, I tried to get the service rep's name who I'd placed my order with to file a complaint. I was told, "Names of the salespeople are not noted in our system, only their representative numbers." He then proceeded to look up my "file" and read off numerous comments that had been entered by the previous reps, such as the notation that I was a "difficult customer"!

Once again, I was told that I could not get the phone insured. I told that rep that I would like *his* name and number to add to the complaint. He gave me a first name only, along with a number. I asked the process to file a complaint with their company. I was told to go to the website and request the form. I did this, and never received a response.

I now hold 2 $150 phones ($300 total) with no insurance against damage on them, and can assure you that as soon as I can afford a new phone and service contract with a different service provider, I will be switching services.

Furthermore, I went in once to their local store in Kansas City, Kansas, pay my bill, and shortly afterward, against my consent or permission, myy account was placed on "automatic withdraw". This is fine (well, not really, but...), except the money is withdrawn a full week before the bill is actually due. And as I get paid monthly, the last week of the month is a very inconvenient time for this! One month, I even withdrew the remainder of my money from my account to keep the auto-deduct from going through, but it went through, anyway. (I suppose my bank decided to cover this, so that's not directly Cricket's fault.) There is NO WAY to stop them via their website (which is the place they direct you to manage all other facets of your account) from auto-deducting from your account once auto-deduct has been initiated. I will now be speaking to my bank to instruct them to ignore Cricket's attempts to auto-deduct from my account.

The times they've deducted payments have varied — although the overall amount is usually the same, some months it is deducted all at once and other months I have 2 or more deductions to equal the amount due, deducted on completely random dates. One month, I swear that they deducted extra above and beyond what my bill is. As I am still tired from fighting with them over the insurance issue, I have not yet addressed that with Cricket. But I definitely plan to.

If you go through this company, be prepared for completely NON-EXISTENT customer service from employees who can barely speaks English. And be prepared for the fact that they don't give a crap about you, your wishes, or desires. All they want to assure is that they keep making money off of you.
