I purchased my daughter a Motorola C341 last year. The phone was stolen so we filed an insurance claim. Fortunatly we did recover the phone, Cancelled the insurance claim and restored her service. Shortly after my daughter decided to buy a new phone because she wanted one that would take pictures.

I recently gave the Motorola to a friend to use but when he tried to activate that phone Cricket told him the phone was stolen and therefore their corporate office put a lock on the phone. He was told that I needed to go to the local full service store in NLR. After calling the insurance company again I was told that the claim was cancelled at 12.58pm on Oct 18th and that Cricket did have this information. I then went to the local full service store and was told that they could not unlock this phone that they would have to fax the information to coporate office but that it may or may not be unlocked.

I do not understand why they cannot unlock the phone the insurance claim was cancelled and I still have this phone that I paid for. Now if I paid for this phone and the service was restored after it had been recovered why then should it be locked by Cricket and how can they say it may or may not be unlocked? This is my property not Cricket's. I wonder how many people have lost phones this way. I was accually asked why my friend did not want open a new account it would be much cheaper that way. I dont under stand how it could be cheaper if he already has one account and just wants to add an additional phone to it. Now wouldnt that make two separate bills when all he has to do is add a phone to his current service? We are also having problems with her new phone not holding a charge.

My daughter went to the Cricket office and was told by this same girl that the insurance would not cover the phone because she must have dropped it. I paid over 200.00 for this phone and have the insurance coverage on it so what is the insurance for??? Not to mention you cannot pay your bill over the internet with out them deducting an additional charge from your checking account. When I go on line I put in the exact amount on the statement what authorizes them to take out an additional dollar. If you go to the local full service store they charge you an additional 5.00 to pay your bill. I guess the only way to pay your bill is to mail it and hope that they are not holding it past the due date to make more money. I am currently shopping for another service we have had Cricket since my daughter was 11 years old and this is just a fraction of the problems we have experienced with them. Cricket is a good service to have for a child I dont argue with that but as for they way that they conduct business it sucks... Thank god she is now 16 and can handle minutes or maybe a track phone.

It is good for kids but the company is just not customer service material. I dont think any one of them could give you the same answer to the same question if their very lives depended on it. Just try to call and talk to any of the Customer Service Reps and you will know what I am talking about they were laughing in the background while I was on the phone with a so called supervisor. I wondered why everytime you go into the NLR so called full service store they always have a police office on duty just standing around. I have never left with the feeling that my problem has ever been taken care of...
