Wow! Internet, Cable, & PhoneWow! Internet, cable, & phone, wide open west unauthorized charges to non customers debit cards by wow cable company

When signing up customers, WOW cable asks potential customers for their debit/credit card number so that they could do a one time $1 charge to their account (to verify that it's a real person setting up service and not a prank call). If you inform them that you do not have a debit/credit card, they immediately ask if there's someone else's card you can use for a one time $1 charge for verification. No matter how many times you ask them what the card was needed for and what would/could be deducted from this card, THEY STILL TELL YOU ONLY A ONE TIME $1 FEE. THEY NEVER TELL YOU THAT YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS CUSTOMERS BILLS OR EQUIPMENT.

So, if you borrow your mothers card for $1 to set up your own account, WOW cable company will save her credit/debit card number as your information - even when you tell them this isn't your card and even when they know it isn't your card. And down the line when you don't pay your bill or return your equipment, they'll charge your mother for it. They did this to me.

I spoke to a customer service rep when my friend was signing up, who at the time didn't have a card. So, when the rep assured me and reassured me that it was a one time $1 fee, I didn't have a problem with it. It's a recession, but who can't spare a buck for a friend? I give money to the homeless on the street, so I had no problem with giving a friend $1. I spoke to the rep personally to make sure nothing else would be charged to my card and to let them know that it was my card. After she reassured me, I agreed. Needless to say, last week, WOW deducted $600 from my card for "unreturned equipment". Now, $600 is not $1, and it's still a recession, so I can't afford that type of loss. So of course I contacted my friend and they returned the equipment immediately. You would think WOW would refund my $600 right? Wrong. They told me that they weren't refunding the $600, they would only refund the amount of the equipment - which was $291. The additional money, they would keep for my friends past due bill. Then, my friend sent me the itemized letter from WOW stating that the equipment was $600. AND THEY STILL HAVEN'T REFUNDED ME!

They mislead people, and they are deceiving... And not good at resolving issues.in fact, he's the one who vouched for the customer service rep when I was told that the equipment was $291.
