Fax would not take, paper would not be accepted for scanning, phone# would be dialed. The msg would read paper jam clear paper feed then press stop. After pressing stop, machine would whirl, whine for 2 minutes, then show paper jam... Etc.
I called an after 45minutes of disecting the machine to confirm to the Brothers representative that there was no paper anywhere in the feed area causing this 'jam', I was given an activity report# so when I called them back with the credit card info for $1.00 so they could send the replacement unit (under warranty, 1/20/09 1st used call made 3/10/09). When I called back they wanted to go through the whole procedure again. I told them they had all the info on the activity report & I was just calling in with the credit card info. After 50 minutes & 4 personnel they finaslly took the info. This was a waste of productivity time, mine & theirs (job security for them?). I think they wanted you to give up getting the replacement unit.
It took 2 days to recieve replacement unit (3/12/09) I repackaged the broken unit to send back fedx grd as their paper work stated. I called fedx p/u which was scheduled for 3/13/09 today. I hope this is withon their 3 business days turnaruond, otherwisethey would charge the acct for full value of fax machine. We will see if we're chgd $1.00 or full value.
From this experience I would not buy another Brother product, quality & service are very poor.
