Our A/C went out a week ago today. I called GE to schedule repair for Monday before noon. I waited until 1:30 and then called to report no one had come or called (I was not ever given the name or phone of the company scheduled to do the work.) She then gave me the contact info. For AAC Improvement Co. And we started and endless game of; I will page the tech and call you back in 10 min, the tech will call you back within the hour, I haven't been able to reach the tech, the dispatch paper got lost.
After 2 days of this, (by now we had been suffering 115 degree heat for 6 days) I called Ge and told them I wanted another company. This was a health issue. I was told "NO" that AAC had assured her they would be out that day. At 2PM AAC phoned and said they would not make it that day either!
I called GE back and they agreed to FAX an authorization to get an outside co. To do the work. It still has not arrived.
AAC finally showed up yesterday AM and the tech said the unit needed new coils not available in town and if they could not be found they would have to be fabricated which could take 3-4 wks!
I called GE, this was unacceptable. I had Replacement coverage I wanted the unit replaced. They would not replace for our convenience. They would give us the $ allowed for repair to buy a new unit. Haven't seen that. Called today different person knew nothing about $ or FAX and could do nothing!
