Woot.com does not test their products, does not cover return shipping

I recently snagged a refurbished Philips 42" LCD from woot. Damaged exterior, and the remote doesn't work, so I can't program it, basically rendering my TV completely useless. It's been sitting in the box in my living room since Saturday, a glorified paperweight.

Woot.com has issued me a RMA number, but is requiring me to pay for the shipping back to them, which isn't cheap at about $70. I'm a bit irritated at the fact that I now need to pay to send something back to them that, had they tested thoroughly in the first place, would have know was defective. Does that strike anyone else as unfair?

I did speak over email with their support team, and they weren't much help. They wouldn't help me work with Philips to get a new remote sooner, either. Philips said they could get me one by April... Maybe. Backordered with no expected date of arrival. Nice.

If you're thinking about buying anything substantial from woot.com, I would strongly caution you against it. Their customer service and policy on returns leaves much to be desired.
