Oh Staples. What an enemy you have created

In late 2008 I began having an issue with a screen that came up saying that the hard drive had imminent failure. I then took the laptop to Staples to have a Hard Drive (I purchased at Circuit City) installed with a system restore to be done as well (located in Cranberry, Pa Venango County). I got a call a few days later saying that the work had been completed and that I could pick up my device. I then took it home turned it on; Black screen.

Since college was about to begin I could no longer take the computer to the Staples in Cranberry (Venango County) and then took it into Staples (Butler, PA) to have the system restore completed yet again. I had to pay again as the employees could not find any paper work on my computer at the Cranberry location. A few days later I picked up my laptop everything worked fine. Until I tried to get online using an Ethernet cable. Didn't work. I then went to a place that has always had very good wireless connection, Panera Bread, again didn't connect. I then took the computer to Best Buy in Cranberry, PA to have a system diagnostic done and a second opinion in the matter.

Result: Your system restore wasn't completed
Me: Hmmseems to be a common thing with Staples.

We then called Staples, in Butler, PA, with this information. The computer technician was very weary to say anything and put me on hold to get in touch with his manager. The managers then answered saying that he needed to get in touch with corporate to solve my issue. 10 minutes later I received a call back from the technician saying to bring it back in for another system restore. So, I did.

Two more times (another week long period) I went into the Staples store in Butler, PA taking my computer home and trying to get onto the internet; same result no connection either way.

One last time I took my computer into Staples asking for this issue to be resolved since I did not have this problem before I took my computer to Staples. Again, they took my laptop. One week passed by; no call. Two weeks Passed by; still no call.

I then called them in hopes in finding my computer was fixed, asking directly for the manager this time. I found that the last thing to be completed on the laptop was a week prior to me calling in.

Not very good business practice if you ask me, but any way

She did say that the result as of now was the Ethernet card. She the told me she was very sorry for nobody calling me, and that she would talk to the technician on the matter and have him call me the next day.

The next day I did received a call, from Wes, saying that he had very bad news for memy mother board had gone.
??? How could this happen? I asked.
Wes: The computer must've over heated.

This to me is the weird part; I have always used a cooling pad and never left my computer plugged in or turned on for any longer than the time I was using it.

In the end, January 19th, I picked up my computer with this mind boggling matter that within the time of Staples handling my computer they:
1.) Could not complete a System Restorenot once but twice.
2.) Improperly handled my computer causing it to overheat and ruined my motherboard.
3.) Have very poor business practices when it comes to calling a customer with details on their products.

As a result I will no longer buy or praise any Staples store anywhere. This has been the worst I have ever been treated in regards to customer service and now have no computer due to their methods of fixing HP laptops (which they are supposedly a certified dealer/repairer of). I warn everyone now. Do not expect any type of half-decent customer service from ay Staples store, and I recommend not having any services conducted by them, as you will more than likely have more complications with your product after getting it back (6 weeks later).

Thank you for reading my rant.
