Makes it tough on anyone wanting to cancel, deceptive company internet

Jury still out on DISH
I am hoping I end up being wrong about DISH. I have cancelled my service recently and already am having headache after headache. When we signed up the deal was for two receivers on their lease plan. I wanted 4 receivers which was not part of the current deal so I a paid for two receivers outright. These were mine and had no lease agreement.
I actually enjoyed DISH very much. The reason we cancelled was simply because I now am in Customer Service for DIRECTV. I get free equipment and Free programming. Who would turn that down? I called to cancel and of course my first surprise is that the local installer who brought everything out, does not pick up the leased equipment, no we have to wait for boxes from DISH to arrive and send it back ourselves. Okay, no problem but then it was an issue trying to decide which two receivers to send. Talked to my local installer and his two serial numbers conflicted with what DISH had down as own or lease. Okay just another slight hassle, not too upset yet. I called a total of three times and finally started to get the Same story about which two I keep and which I send back.
The next surprise comes when checking our account online the day of the disconnect to see if our final bill has been figured and when it will be sent out. SURPRISE, DISH has already charged the final bill to our credit card! They told me they would MAIL the final bill. We are not even set up on a reccurring credit card! My poor mom let them take her credit card down, which they HAVE to have when you sign up, even though she was hesitant to do so. I admit my credit sucked at the time and she did it so the rest of us could enjoy DISH. I assured her no charges would ever go on it! We paid our bill on time or early every month.
We called DISH and they tried to claim they don't have any card on file, someone had to have given that number and authorized it.
They even had the employee who took the payment on file. They had her call us back. Guess what? The poor girl was one I had talked to about which receivers to send back! She never talked about payment. Even she admitted that! I can understand a mistake and we did owe the amount they charged but for them to out and out lie! Of course they have my moms card on file. They have to so that if we don't return their equipment they have a card to charge it to. That is why they make you have one to sign up. The fact that they admit that but then try to deny that it was on file anywhere for anyone to use is just bull.

Still at this point we just want to be done. My biggest fear now is that the promised boxes will not arrive, and if they do, they will try and say we never sent the receivers. Everyone keeps telling me that I will have the UPS tracking number to show that I sent the receivers but what does that mean really? Once I send them I have no proof. DISH could say the box was full of rocks if they want to. How can I protect myself? I actually thought of recording it all on video tape. Me putting the receivers in boxes and taping up the box. Of course they could claim I undid the box after stopping the tape. Do I sound paranoid? You bet!
I was so trusting before all of this. I made fun of my mom when she did not want to give out her credit card or social security number, but now I know why.
My plea is to someone out there who posted that they work for DISH and would be happy to investigate any customer willing to give out some information. I hope that is true and that they could email me. I am confused at why we are not allowed to include an email address in our comment. I am hoping the webmasters of this site will allow that somehow so that we can get help from people who offer it. If not, any basic information from an employee on how honest DISH is when it comes to returning receivers, would be greatly appreciated. Now that I work in customer service, I know that some people just like to complain. I also know that others have a valid reason to be angry and I do my best to help resolve the issue when I can. The DISH employees willing to go the extra mile are greatly appreciated and I hope one of them can reassure me that the receivers will be credited to my account.
